SPEED BREAKER POWER GENERATOR AND MULTIFUNCTION ENERGY DEVELOPMENT MODEL
With increased demand of electricity, we need to find alternate ways of producing it. Our important natural resources like, coal and fossil fuels are getting used up and now, is the high time that we switch to nonconventional and eco-friendly energy generation methods.
- This project of ours, is introducing one such solution. We can generate energy through speed breakers on road. Although generating energy from whole length of road is currently being tested worldwide, but for now the energy generation at speed breakers is successful.
- Here a rod or shaft is incorporated with the pitch of speed breakers, along its width. When vehicles pass on, the rod rotates and transmits this rotational movement to the motor and thus running the motor to generate electricity in streetlights.
- Although the output is low but when installed on large scale, we can save a lot of electricity that we supply to all the streetlights.
- This will also help in providing street light solution on the roads of the areas where the electricity hasn’t reached yet or where, there is a shortage.
- We have added multiple features to this project
- AUTOMATIC STREET LIGHT CIRCUIT
A rechargeable battery system, which will store the energy generated by speed breakers in daytime and attached to it are the streetlights circuit that will get power when darkness occurs.
We intend to save electricity with this circuit. It works with the help of LDR due to which the system knows when to turn on the lights and when to turn it off as per the requirements.
- We also displayed that even solar panels system can be installed in the vicinity of long highways to produce, store, and use that energy for streetlights etc.

Block diagram: Vehicles turn the rod which in turn runs the motor and hence the streetlights.
Step 1: Collecting the Components required for this project.
- Plywood 2×3 foot
- 1000 RPM Gear motor
- 2 Motor clamp
- Resistor 220 ohm
- 15 cm Iron rod pipe
- 2 x Street light circuit
- Battery
- Battery Cap
- Connecting wires
- Colour paper
- Plastic trees and cars
Note: street light circuit is model to show case the energy received from dynamo is stored in rechargeable battery and can be used to turn on the streetlights during night.

- Resistor 1K ohm AND 100-200 ohm
- LDR
- NE555 Timer IC
- Battery
