Description

The soldier health monitoring system is designed to track and report vital signs such as body temperature and heart rate, while also providing real-time location information. Using an Arduino Uno microcontroller, the system displays vital data on a 16×2 LCD and can send alerts via a SIM800 GSM module if necessary. This system helps ensure the safety and well-being of soldiers in the field.

Components:

  2. 7805 Voltage Regulator – Maintains a steady 5V supply for the system components.
  3. 16×2 LCD Display – Displays health metrics for easy monitoring.
  4. Potentiometer – Used to adjust the display contrast or settings.
  5. Switch – Allows the user to activate or reset the system.
  6. SIM800 GSM Module – Sends SMS alerts and reports health data to a designated number.
  7. DC Jack – Provides a connection for external power sources.
  8. 10K Ohm Resistors – Used for circuit stability and current control.
  9. NTC 103-Thermistor (10K) – Monitors body temperature.
  10. GPS Module – Provides real-time location data.
  11. LDR Sensor (Light Dependent Resistor) – Used as a heart rate sensor by detecting changes in light from blood flow.

Working: The Arduino Uno receives input from the temperature sensor (NTC thermistor) and the heart rate sensor (LDR) to monitor vital signs. The data is processed and displayed on the 16×2 LCD screen for immediate viewing. When a health parameter exceeds predefined thresholds, the system triggers the SIM800 GSM module to send an alert message, which can include the soldier’s current GPS location for rapid assistance. The system is powered by a DC jack and regulated using a 7805 voltage regulator, ensuring reliable operation.
